THE Argus will be keeping you up to date on the latest Welsh Assembly election news through the night after polls close tonight at 10pm.

Keep an eye on southwalesargus.co.uk for the latest from seven Gwent Welsh Assembly constituency counts of Newport East, Newport West, Monmouth, Blaenau Gwent, Torfaen, Islwyn, Caerphilly and the regional South Wales East count.

Our reporters will be at the counts ready to bring you the results, latest news and reaction for our comprehensive online coverage.

Polls are open from 7am to 10pm for you to vote for your assembly member and police and crime commissioner. You will receive three ballot papers, two for the National Assembly elections and one for the police and crime commissioner (PCC) elections.

Voting for the PCC will be by supplementary vote (SV) where you will be asked to vote for your first choice candidate and your second choice candidate.

Counting for the Welsh Assembly election will begin as soon as all ballots boxes make it to the count venues.

Counting for the police and crime commissioner election will take place on Sunday in Newport, which will also be live-blogged at southwalesargus.co.uk.

Throughout today, we’ll be updating you on the expected turn-out, the views of voters outside polling stations and exit poll results as soon as the polling stations close.

We’ll also be bringing together the full results and extensive analysis in print in your Argus on Saturday.
