A BLACKWOOD mother-of-three died of natural causes aged just 36 while sleeping , an inquest heard.

Harbax Kaur, from Cefn Fforest, who did not drink or smoke, began suffering with dizzy spells from April, 2013 but had no diagnosis from her GP.

Occasionally, she was unable to stand up but on Wednesday, October 21 last year, she went shopping, cooked and helped out in the family shop D &M stores she ran with her husband Jaswant Singh Dhesi.

Newport Coroner's Court heard today from Mr Dhesi that the couple had gone to bed at 10pm that night.

Mr Dhesi had been painting the flat and had to be up early to finish, so his wife, slept with their 10-year-old daughter in her room.

He said he woke up at around 6.15am and went into the bathroom, where he could hear his wife’s alarm going off.

He said: “As I went into the room, her right arm and leg were hanging out of the bed. I called out and got no response.

“I touched her face and shook her. I realised then that something was wrong and ran to the [master] bedroom and phoned an ambulance.”

The court heard that Mr Dhesi and paramedics gave Mrs Kaur 600 chest compressions to no avail.

Dr Andrew Davison, Home Office pathologist at University Hospital Wales, carried out a post-mortem examination on October 23, 2015.

Dr Davison found Mrs Kaur died of natural causes that were cardiac related and which the “naked eye or microscope” could not spot.

Deputy coroner for Gwent, Wendy James, agreed and concluded that she died of natural causes.

She said: “In considering all the evidence before me, I consider that the is no suspicious circumstances surrounding Harbax’s death.”
