A man is in a critical condition after the crash on Sunday, Gwent Police said.
The 34-year-old, who was riding a motorbike, is from the Chepstow area, was seriously injured and is currently in a critical condition at the Royal Gwent Hospital.
The crash happened at around 3.00pm on Sunday May 29 2016 on the B4235 near Llangwm and involved only the motorbike, a red and black Yamaha R1.
The road was closed for around four hours while an investigation took place.
Police are appealing to anyone who may have been in the area at the time and have further information, to call 101 quoting log number 302 29/5/16.

THE B4235 Monmouthshire is closed in both directions following a “serious accident”.
The accident took place between Llanynant Road, Llangwm and Monmouth Road, Gwernesney.
The roads are closed between the Llanynant Road junction and the Monmouth Road junction.
Diversions are currently in place.
