VOLUNTEERS who are helping transform the Victorian walled garden at Llanfrechfa Grange are inviting the public to view the design for the site.

The garden is set to be a focal point in the grounds of the planned Specialist and Critical Care Centre for Gwent, and earlier this year the project to restore it secured £12,000 of backing from Tesco's Bags of Help fund.

Work began in earnest last year to revive the weed-choked garden, which had lain abandoned for around 20 years.

Three viewings of the design - all to be held in the committee room of the main Grange house - have been organised during the summer for those wishing to see and comment on the design: Monday July 4, 5pm-7pm; Monday July 25, 10am-noon; Saturday September 3, 10am-noon.

There is no need to book, refreshments will be provided, and there will be an opportunity to visit the garden, weather permitting.

Anyone wishing to learn more, and to get involved with the restoration, can do so by visiting llanfrechfawalledgarden.wordpress.com
