THERE are in politics many issues where compromise and solidarity are required to move forward.
Then there are those issues of such deep-seated personal beliefs that it is understood a free vote is required, I thought the Trident issue was recognise as one of those?
If you want power at any cost then some words don’t belong together. Morals, principles, truth, politicians. If you want to sell papers or attract viewers, morals, principles, truth should never be on the production list of consideration.
Jeremy Corbyn stood up on his principles to be counted and a lot of Labour people backed him. It should not be a worry what his leadership capabilities are, the membership has spoken. It is the duty of Labour MPs to back him. If they can’t I would ask why?
Your party membership has told you what it wants, it is your duty to support, advise, show compromise and solidarity. If you find you can’t support a leader elected by said members then you should question your true reasons for being a Labour representative.
To any MPs who think they are right and the membership wrong there is a simple answer. Go back to your constituency and call a by-election if you are that sure you are right.
