A MAN has been arrested on suspicion of attempting to cause grievous bodily harm following an incident in Tredegar in which armed police were called.
Officers were called to an address on Pretoria Terrace in Tredegar at 1.08pm on Tuesday following reports that a 41-year-old local man had attacked a 49- year-old local female.
The spokeswoman for the force said a female sustained minor arm injuries and was taken to Nevill Hall Hospital for treatment but has since been released. The man remained at an address on Pretoria Terrace with a second female, age 37.
Police, including armed officers, were at the scene and a cordon was put in place as a precautionary measure.
A spokeswoman for the force said the incident was 'brought to a safe conclusion.' The man was arrested on suspicion of attempt to cause grievous bodily harm and is currently in police custody.
The 37-year-old woman was unharmed.
