I AM RESPONDING to Gill Brewster’s letter printed on August 19, sent in response to my letter printed on August 17.
I would like to point out that I have never stated that Newport Transport is intending to withdraw its services to St Julians. I have merely expressed my concern that this could happen due to lack of support.
It is true that Newport Transport services have always been well supported, but they did not have to compete with another bus company in the past. I have on many occasions seen people board a N.A.T bus, despite there being a Newport Transport bus following behind.
I can categorically state that Gill Brewster is wrong in stating that all stops on the St Julians route display a Newport Transport timetable.
She is wrong in stating that all stops do not display a N.A.T timetable. She is also wrong in stating that N.A.T has notices stating refer to the website for information – these are Newport Transport notices, not N.A.T.
I would like to remind Gill Brewster that Newport Transport buses and timetables are green and cream and that N.A.T buses and timetables are blue and white.
