THERE is loads to do in Gwent this bank holiday weekend. Let's all just keep our fingers crossed for good weather.
1. Bedwellty Agricultural Show
The Bedwellty Agricultural Show will be held at the new venue of Llancaiach Fawr Manor House on Saturday from 9am.
Admission prices remain the same as last year – £5 for adults, £3 for children and concessions.
Attractions at the show include the Black Mountains falconry display, Savage Skills Stunt Bike Show and the Newport Sled Dogs, with many more events throughout the day.
There is also a chance to get involved with Black Mountain Archery and a climbing wall.
Llancaiach Fawr Manor House is also offering discount on tours of the manor for those who pay for admission into the show.
2. Barking Mad Dog Show
On Monday, the Barking Mad Dog Show is heading to Llancaiach Fawr Manor.
Gates open at 10.30am and entry costs £1 per dog per class.
Activities and attractions at the event include have-a-go agility, displays, tombola, grooming demonstrations, doggy deli, handmade crafts and various training sessions.
The Dog Show is not one to be missed, entries from 11am and the judging starts at 12pm. The show is being held to raise much-needed funds to help dogs in South Wales.
3. Bank Holiday Craft Market at Abbey Mill Wye Valley Centre
On Saturday between 11am to 4pm, there is a bank holiday craft market, at the Abbey Mill Wye Valley Centre, where you can find that special home-made treat or gift from a wide variety of local vendors.

4. Music at Abbey Mill (Abbey Mill Wye Valley Centre)
A guitarist will be serenading visitors on Sunday and Monday, playing a mixture of his own songs and well known covers at the Abbey Mill Wye Valley Centre.
The performance begins at 12pm finishing at 16pm.
Go along to sit and listen or join in with the singing.
5. Bank Holiday Family Fun Raceday
On Bank Holiday Monday, a family race day will take place at Chepstow Racecourse opening at 10.30am.
Alongside the seven races due to take place, there are a whole host of other activities including aqua zorbing, go karts, donkey rides and a bouncy castle.
There will also be live entertainment with a Little Mix tribute – Mini Mixx. Early bird family tickets start at £25 and standard entry starts at £22, with many more package deals available. Kids under 17 go free.
6. Empire!
A great day of Roman re-enactment at the Caerleon amphitheatre from the National Roman Legion Museum is to be held on Saturday and Sunday.
The Roman soldiers will display their weapons and talk about their experiences as a Roman soldier, doctor or Roman lady.
Tickets start at £5 for adults, £4 for concessions with a family ticket costing £15. It promises to be an action-packed day for all of the family.
7. Stargaze with Cadw at Caerphilly Castle
This is your chance to be shown how to correctly use a telescope to observe the constellations of the northern hemisphere on Saturday night.
No prior knowledge is needed or any equipment.
To book a space call 02920 883143. Attendees are advised to arrive for 7.30 pm and wear warm clothes ready for a long wait, blankets and torches are advised. Prices for adults start at £10.
8. Bank Holiday fun at Caerphilly Castle
Two days of meeting medieval characters and watching Caerphilly Castle come alive with the sights, sounds and smells of the medieval period on Sunday and Monday.
There will be a large amount of hands-on activities, living history, and talks and displays. All of the family is welcome with prices for adults starting at £6, concessions and under 16s £4.20 and family tickets available for £16.20.
9. Classic Transport Show in Blaenavon
On Sunday and Monday you can hop aboard the vintage bus to see a host of classical vehicles and ride on a vintage stream train at Blaenavon Heritage Railway.
The show is open from 11am to 4pm.
10. Tredegar House's 1930s Garden Party
Take a step back in time to the 1930s and enjoy a great day out with all of the family at Tredegar House on Saturday.
The event is free and begins at 11am and finishes at 4pm.
11. Pill Carnival
On Monday, Pill's annual carnival will return.
The parade will start at 1pm from the bottom of Alexandra Road and then continue into Commercial Road.
It will then go down Cardiff Road and finish in Mendalgief Road.
Among many other attractions, the parade will feature a marching band and a brass band.
12. Raglan Day
Raglan Day will take place on Bank Holiday Monday from 10am to 4.30pm.
Celebrating local musical talent, supporting up-and coming Welsh acts whilst fostering a welcoming village community ethos, Raglan Day promises to be a great event!
13. Severn Bridge Half Marathon
If you're not already signed up to the sell-out run, why not support the runners pounding the pavements?
This year is the 50th anniversary of the bridge opening in 1966 so expect a big party!
