A LORRY got stuck under a Newport bridge last night.
The lorry got trapped under the bridge by Church Road and Clarence Place Junction, leading to Caerleon Road being shut for several hours.
Caerleon Road is now reopened.
A Gwent Police spokesman said: "At around 3.35am, we received reports of a lorry being stuck under the bridge by Church Road and Clarence Place Junction.
"At 6.25am, the lorry was moved."
The Gwent Police spokesman said that the road and the railway line, which was closed as a precautionary measure, have now been reopened.
He said that, as far as police were aware, no trains were affected.
He said that there wasn't any structural damage to the bridge and that no injuries have been reported.
