Fire crews from Cwmbran, Maindee and Malpas attended the fire in Bettws
A FIRE at the Newport care home was tackled by crews from the Cwmbran, Maindee and Malpas stations earlier this morning.
Firefighters responded to reports of a tumble dryer fire in the laundry room at the Woodside Care Home on Craig y Ceiliog, Bettws at just after 5.15am.
All the residents were safely evacuated and crews used breathing apparatus, hosereels and safety jets to extinguish the fire.
