POLICE have appealed for information after a man was allegedly robbed at knifepoint at a railway station in Caerphilly.

A 19-year-old man arrived at Aber railway station by train between 12.35pm and 12.56pm on Thursday Oct 20 and as he left the station and walked towards towards Nantgarw Road, became aware of a man who started to walk towards him.

A man bumped into the alleged victim and then is reported to have threatened him with a knife and stole his wallet.

The man police would like to speak to is white, around six feet tall, medium build, in his twenties with a brown beard. He was wearing a navy tracksuit and trainers.

Investigating officer, Det Insp Jaci Thomas, said: “This robbery left the victim suffering from shock. It happened in broad daylight in a public place and it is likely that there were people around who may have seen or heard something, or saw the offender in the station around the time of the offence. I would like to speak to anyone who has any information about the incident.”
