MORE than 200 people jumped, leaped and hopped to raise £200 for Children in Need yesterday, Wednesday.

The fundraising event, called Jump for Pudsey, took place outside Boots in Cwmbran Shopping Centre.

Visitors could join in and jump on mini-trampolines outside the store, as well as meet Pudsey the bear and take part in special trails with him.

Only 100 Boots stores across the UK were nominated to take part in the day, which was run in association with the British gymnastics team to help people get more active.

The shop's manager Fiona Price said the day was a huge success, with around 200 people jumping to raise money.

She said: “We were really proud to be one of the stores nominated to do this event.

“It was great to have Pudsey with us as well, as all the children loved him.”
