Santa’s Grotto

The grotto has the opportunity to join in a range of magical crafts and listen to Christmas stories. Children can take a ride on the miniature steam train and find out if Santa has a gift for them.

Children will enjoy a video message from Santa’s chief elf, decorate gingerbread and write a letter to Santa and post it in the North Pole letter box all whilst they anxiously wait to meet Santa. After they meet Santa and receive a gift, they will also have the opportunity to meet Santa’s reindeer.

A story of ‘A Christmas Carol’ is told throughout the formal gardens and into the mansion. Meet the ghosts of Christmas past, make Jacob Marley’s paper chains and Christmas cards for Scrooge.
There are also lots of Christmas crafts going on for families and sing-alongs with the choir. The Servants Hall also has home-made mince pies and mulled wine on offer.
No pre-booking is required as you will be provided with a timed ticket on entry.

Children can search for their names on Santa’s naughty or nice list and stay warm by a cosy fire whilst finishing off their Christmas lists to Santa. Santa reads Christmas stories, shares North Pole secrets and sings songs with the children.
Each child will be given a special letter and present from Santa and can have a photo taken. Afterwards you can take a look around the Manor House and browse the Christmas gifts on offer.
