LEEDS-BASED band Clay will perform at The Moon Club, Cardiff on December 14 following the release of their new single, 6AM.

Clay were formed in June 2014, with the songwriting down to brothers Joe and Jack Harvey who had been writing together since before they knew what they wanted to do. But once they approached bass player Rob Gration, a childhood friend, and Danny Armitage did they realise what they wanted to do and produced the first songs of the band.

Amongst those tracks and the first to be recorded was Sun Dance. After several incarnations, the band released the final version of the track in October 2014. Subsequently, this was picked up by Zane Lowe, who played the track on BBC Radio 1 as one of his last ever 'Next Hype’ features before departing to Beats Radio in February 2015.

The track was also featured on primetime HBO show Ballers in the USA starring Dwayne Johnson shortly after.

This led to the band been selected to sub-headline the BBC Introducing stage at Reading and Leeds Festivals in 2015 to a large crowd considering the bands few releases as well as appearing at Kendal Calling and metropolitan festivals nationwide.

Since then the band have gone on to release two more tracks - Oxygen and Stay Calm!, both of which have been received with the same acclaim. The bands debut EP, the Heaven EP was also met with the same acclaim leading the band to headline the first BBC Introducing showcase in Leeds, sold out to 500 capacity and making this the bands fifth consecutive sell out Leeds show.
