AWARD-WINNING Newport brewers, Tiny Rebel, have revealed a behind the scenes look at their new brewery after officially leaving their old base this year.

Since the brewery was started over four years ago by co-founders Brad Cummings and Gareth Williams, Tiny Rebel has seen massive growth.

Achievements include opening Urban Tap House pubs in Cardiff and Newport and producing popular beers including their Welsh red ale, Cwtch – the Champion Beer of Britain 2015.

Due to the success and popularity of its beers, Tiny Rebel has found itself at full capacity, spurring on plans for larger brewing facilities to meet increasing demand.

After announcing plans to move from their base in Maesglas Industrial Estate last year, the brewers have released images and videos of the new Wern Industrial Estate site in Rogerstone on social media.

This includes brewery tanks being tagged with the firm's signature graffiti art style and the delivery of thousands of cans.

A tweet also noted the “sad day” of leaving the old brewery in Maesglas alongside a picture of faded graffiti, describing it as “worth more than a Banksey [...] to us anyway”.

The proposed new site— covering nearly 30,000 square feet — will include a bar and event space as well as capacity for bottles and canning.

The 2.6m relocation and expansion will also see significantly increased storage which will allow for a large increase in production and a expanded capacity of 5 million litres annually – nearly 9 million pints.

A Tiny Rebel spokeswoman also confirmed the new brewery is currently in the testing stage and that the firm are also advertising for a new marketing manager.

Tiny Rebel co-founder, Gareth Williams, speaking to The Argus last year, said: “Newport is our home and where Tiny Rebel all began – so it is only right that investment in our growing business contributes to the city.

“We look forward to welcoming fans of our beers to the new brewery.”

The brewers are also recruiting for part time bar staff in their Newport city centre bar.
