A VINTAGE pop-up store is to closing its current location ahead of re-opening in a bigger premises.
The Black Bear Vintage Emporium is currently based in the Friends of St Annes Hospice Charity Shop in Commercial Street, Newport.
But the idea has proved so successful it will be moving to a permanent premises in early April.
Christopher Baldwin, the owner of the brand, said: “I’m extremely excited about it. I started this as a pipe dream in October and opened in January. I already need a larger premises. I am passionate about Newport having lived here all my life, and I want to make difference.”
The new store will also be located on Commercial Street opposite the new Kaspas dessert house. As well as vintage clothing, the store will house a 50s style beauty salon, and offer a vintage-inspired children clothing line. An illustrator creating gift cards and prints will also be based there.
Mr Baldwin said he has been “blown away” by the positive feedback he has received about the business.
The opening date of the new store is yet to be confirmed.
