A WEDDING venue in Newport is looking for a couple to get married there by the end of this month – so they can be featured in a Channel 5 programme.

The West Usk Lighthouse, in Lighthouse Road, St Brides, has been approached by a production company making brand new show “Bring on the Bride” about wedding planning.

A spokeswoman for Crackit Productions said: “The show follows the ups and downs of planning a wedding and is looking to capture the heart-warming moments at the end when everything comes together on the big day.

“This series aims to be fast paced and fun with plenty of uplifting moments.

“The idea is to capture all the hard work that goes into a wedding but show why it’s all worth it in the end.

“It will be glossy and lively, and hopefully become a celebrated wedding series.”

Danielle Sheahan, one of the owners at the Lighthouse, said they would like to have a couple getting involved and that they will be offering a discount to the couple who gets married in the venue by the end of February.

Crackit Productions will also be making a contribution to the wedding.

She said: “For those looking for an intimate, family wedding, the Lighthouse is for them.

“It is not for those looking for a big wedding, as we are only licenced for a 22 guest ceremony. However, they could have more people in the marquee outside.

“It is unique and by the sea.

“Newport only has one lighthouse and there are only three other lighthouses in the UK where you can stay and have a wedding. It is really lovely here.

“We have three packages. The first one is four hours. The second one is a full day at the lighthouse. They can have a party, live music and fireworks, for example.

“The third package is a two-day wedding package. The night before is mainly for the women who can come over and stay. We have a hot tub in the roof and they can have a party amongst themselves.

“We don’t offer food so they would need to bring outside caterers.”

The production company would only need to film on three days (including the wedding day). Their crew only consists of two people and they aim to be as unobtrusive as possible.
