MORE THAN 70 badminton teams from across the UK visited Newport this week for a tournament.
The Bengali Badminton Club invited teams registered to the Bangladesh Badminton Federation UK to play at Newport leisure centre and Pill Millennium centre.
It was supported by Communities First, Badminton Wales and its main sponsor, the Welsh Bangladeshi Chamber of Commerce.
Organisers Misba Chowdhury, Zhetu Miah and Fazrul Islam said: “We are overwhelmed with the response. With over 70 teams entering the tournament from all across the UK, we have truly put Newport on the map.”
Winners and runners-up were presented with cash prizes and trophies.
