A CALL centre worker from Tredegar accused of downloading Islamic State (IS) manuals has been ordered by a senior judge to stand trial in the summer.
Nathan Saunders, 23, faces five charges of possessing a record of a kind likely to be useful to a person committing or preparing an act of terrorism under Section 58 of the Terrorism Act 2000.
When he was arrested on February 8, four issues of the IS publication Rumiyah were allegedly found on his iPhone as well as a copy of the Anarchist Cookbook.
Bearded Saunders made his first appearance before the Old Bailey dressed in a dark suit and spoke to confirm his name.
Mr Justice Holroyde set a timetable for the case and ordered it to be heard by Judge Richard Marks QC at the Old Bailey.
A plea and case management hearing was set for June 9 with a provisional seven-day trial to start on August 7.
Saunders was remanded in custody and will attend the next hearing via video link.
