STEWARDS and first aiders at Rodney Parade came to the aid of a man who collapsed at Newport County's ground on Saturday, during the team's game against Blackpool.
The man was also tended to in the Bisley Stand by a Welsh Ambulance Services NHS Trust emergency crew before being taken to the Royal Gwent Hospital.
He is understood to have regained consciousness, though his condition remains unconfirmed.
Mark Jones, head of operations at Rodney Parade, praised "a real team effort" from his staff and the ambulance crew in responding to the incident.
Others took to social media to praise the response, including the Newport County AFC Disabled Supporters' Association, which tweeted to laud the "outstanding work in difficult circumstances."
