GWENT Police have released an image of a man they would like to speak to following an assault on a teenage girl in Cwmbran.

At around 8.30am on Friday, March 3, a girl was assaulted having just entered a lane – which runs between Ty Canol Row and The Neerings – at the side of Henllys Way.

Officers have created an e-fit – a computerised composite photograph of facial features – of the man they wish to speak to.

He is described as being around 5 foot 6 inches tall and slim build and at the time he was wearing black clothing and carrying a black umbrella and with a local accent.

On March 3, a spokesman for Gwent Police launched an appeal for information following the assault on the girl, adding that the man in question was seen walking towards Tolpath, Coed Eva.

He added that the man had short dark hair, which was worn in a quiff and was clean shaven.

Officers also believe that the man who they wish to speak to in relation to the incident is in his 20s.

The spokesman added that the girl was shaken by the incident and officers were on patrol in the area in response to the assault.

Anyone with information which could help the police with their inquiries or assist the investigation in any manner should call 101, quoting log reference 77 03/03/17.
