BANDS will be playing across Newport on Good Friday in a new event for the city.
The Big Busk, organised by venue Le Pub, will bring artists from Newport and from across the UK into the city on Friday April 14.
Organiser and owner of Le Pub Sam Dabb said: “We are taking artists to our favourite spaces of the city. We just feel Newport needs showcasing.
“The daytime performances are free but we’ll be passing a hat round to help us fund the complicated legal bits of opening a new space.”
Artists playing on the day include Sean McGowan, Tom Aylott and Joe Kelly. There will also be spoken word performances.
The event will kick off at noon at Diverse Music, Charles Street. It will then move to Black Bear Vintage, in Commercial Street, at 12.45pm.
The next show will be at 1.30pm in Crafted, in the Kingsway Centre. It will continue at 2.15pm in the former BHS doorway, and then at 3pm in Freestyle Skate shop, in the Newport Arcade before moving to Ye Olde Murenger at 3.45pm and Tiny Rebel 45 minutes later.
The event will finish at 7pm in Le Pub, Claxton Place.
