A GENEROUS schoolboy has maintained his track record of helping those in need by donating more than 90 Easter eggs to charity.

Noah Herniman, 11, of Bulwark, Chepstow, presented his chocolate gifts to staff at Newport Women’s Aid yesterday.

The Pembroke Primary School pupil had collected around 40 eggs from schoolmates and teaching staff before appealing to friends and family to add to his total.

His mum Shelley said: “He just has that in his nature to help others, he knows that one little act can make a difference to someone.

“He wrote a letter to his head teacher and the response was great.”

It is the latest in a long line of charitable acts by the youngster who, with the help of Mrs Herniman and dad Nigel, donated knitwear to the homeless in December last year.

In 2015, Noah also raised £3,000 for the Serennu Children’s Centre which was under threat due to funding cuts,

Women’s Aid, based in Stow Hill, is run entirely by women and helps women in the city who are suffering from domestic abuse.

A spokeswoman said: “Noah’s hard work and generosity is greatly appreciated and his passion for helping others is an inspiration to us all.

“Noah and his peers have helped families in Newport to have a brilliant Easter Holiday, he should be extremely proud of himself.”
