PEOPLE travelled from across south Wales for a history event in Blaenavon at the weekend.
More than 250 people attended the family history fair held at Blaenavon Workmen’s Hall on Saturday.
Nick Barratt from BBC show Who Do You Think You Are? give a presentation on family history, while Gwent Archives provided information on using their archives for research.
History groups also offered workshops on researching family trees.
Actors from the Chance Encounters company played historical characters, meanwhile, including Sarah Hopkins, who founded St. Peter’s School in Blaenavon, and Margaret Williams, who worked at the iron works.
Event organiser Kate Blewitt, from Torfaen County Borough Council, said: “We are really pleased with how the event went, and a lot of people came a long way. The day went really well and everyone really enjoyed hearing Nick Barratt’s talk.”
