FOOTBALL fans will be able to get some special merchandise and memorabilia at a new pop-up shop that opens tomorrow.

The Spirit of 58 brand is inspired by the 1958 World Cup which was, until last year, the only time Wales had appeared in the finals of a major tournament.

They will have a pop-up shop in the Kingsway Centre in Newport on Friday April 28 and Saturday, April 29.

It will be open from 1pm to 4pm on the Friday, and 10am to 4pm on the Saturday.

The company, which has an online store, specialises in Welsh football shirts, merchandise and memorabilia.

Tim Williams, from Spirit of 58, said: “Support for Spirit of 58 has grown over the last six years in Newport and Gwent. So now is the perfect time for the pop-up shop. Hopefully we will see plenty of new and old faces over the two days. It will be great to be based in Newport city centre.”

The opening of the shop has been organised by Newport Now, the city centre’s Business Improvement District. Newport Now manager Kevin Ward said: “We are sure there will be plenty of Wales fans who will be pleased to see Spirit of 58 in Newport.”
