TWO new coffee shops have opened their doors in Newport.
Café Ludek, in Mill Street, specialises in Polish dishes, as well as serving the usual café food – including “delicious” coffee.
Zuzka Hilton, one of the owners, said: “Our soup of the day and our dish of the day are Polish.
“We sell Polish cakes and they are yummy. This week, we have a spinach cake.”
She said they are a coffee shop for everyone but that they are hoping to be a community place for the Eastern European community in Newport and help them integrate into the city. She also said they are hoping to run activities soon.
Rhiwderin Post office, in Tredegar Street, is also operating as a café now – The Sorting Rooms. They are also a village shop, selling locally sourced produce.
Owner Jemma Groucott said: “Our coffee shop is in its initial stages. We are doing up the kitchen so we are only selling hot and cold drinks and cakes right now.”
