A NEWPORT restaurant has made an 85 kilos piece of artwork out of chocolate to celebrate the upcoming Champions League final and raise funds for Newport County AFC.

Chocolatiers from Gemelli, in Newport Retail Park, Spytty Road, have been working on making the piece, which was unveiled yesterday, for over a week.

Pasquale Cinotti, who owns the restaurant with his brother Sergio, said: “We regularly support charities and local groups - but this time we have decided to support our local team.

“By supporting them, we are supporting our community.”

Newport County AFC manager Michael Flynn said: “The cake is outstanding.

“We would like to thank Gemelli and we hope we can repay the favour.”

The cake will be taken to Cardiff on Thursday, June 1, ahead of the final on June 3. Their plan is to give the cake to the winning team.
