BRITISH Lions coach Warren Gatland and rugby legend Eddie Butler were among famous guests to an event for the Motor Neurone Disease Association in Abergavenny recently.
Sir Bryn Terfel, the bass-baritone opera and concert singer, also lent his support to the J9 Foundation three-course dinner and auction at the Angel Hotel.
It saw items such as a hospitality box for up to eight people at the Wales versus South Africa match in December, and a vintage Lions jersey signed by Gareth Edwards, JPR Williams and Barry John, go under the hammer.
The aim of the evening was to raise awareness about Motor Neurone Disease, and it’s devastating effects on both the patient and their family.
T
he event was ponsored by Monmouthshire barrister Phillip Williams of Trinity Chambers.
