AN ARTIST known for his portraits of boxing legends has presented a Pontypool company with an exclusively commissioned painting.
Newbridge artist Pat Killian, who grew up in Cwmcarn, has painted boxing stars live, including Mike Tyson, and is also a former boxer himself, taking the Welsh Amateur Boxing Federation title in 1997.
Mr Killian bonded with Batch Plant company director Lee Batchelor over boxing, as the firm owner supports Pontypool-born ex-professional boxer Gary Lockett.
Last month, the artist presented a commissioned painting to the Pontypool-based business, which provides accredited training for the construction and rail industries.
On its Facebook page, Batch Plant states it is the only centre in Wales that provides plant training for both rail and construction.
Mr Killian said: “Lee had bought various pieces off me but wanted something to represent the company and also have the Welsh impact being the first training provider in Wales.”
