Do you have the prettiest pet in Gwent?
If you think you do, enter our competition to win a pet portrait by artist Christopher Langley – a prize worth £170.
The South Wales Argus has teamed up with Mr Langley to offer a winner an artwork created from a photograph of their pet.
The winner will receive the bespoke print on canvas of an artwork created by Mr Langley, one of the artists in residence at the Celtic Manor Resort.
The print, on A2 canvas, will be created from a digital painting of your pet and will have a signed certificate of authentication on the back.
Mr Langley creates artworks for commercial and private customers, including beautiful portraits of much-loved pets.
From bespoke commissions to artworks showing the landmarks of South Wales, his distinctive style has proven popular with people across Wales and around the world.
Mr Langley’s work includes stunning images of Newport’s Transporter Bridge, Newport City Footbridge, and Newport Castle which can be ordered as prints from his website.
A committee member of the South Wales Art Society, he has exhibited work in galleries in Cardiff, London, and New York. His current exhibition of work at Insole Court, Cardiff, features South Wales pubs.
Mr Langley said: “There’s something very satisfying about being able to give a client a wonderful and lasting reminder of their beloved pet.
“They’re an important part of the family, after all, and a specially-created artwork can say so much more than a picture.”

HOW YOU CAN WIN:
Send us your picture of your cute pet by July 14, including your name, your address, your daytime telephone number, and the name of your pet.
Our panel of judges, including Mr Langley, will pick a winner. The judges’ decision is final and hard copy pictures will not be returned. The winner, their pet, and their artwork will be featured in the Argus.
You can enter a picture of any animal. You could have a cute cat, a delightful dog, a gorgeous guinea pig, a beautiful bunny, or a pretty parrot!
