Caldicot-based Pro Steel Engineering has made three appointments to its management team after a period of growth.

Over the last year the steelwork specialist has added a fabrication arm to its services, which has seen growth of 500 per cent helped by securing high-profile projects such as the Heathrow Airport Bridge Trusses, Great Western Electrification and major stadium extensions and enhancements.

As a result, Pro Steel has appointed Andy Smith, Jonathan Davies and Clare Hogan to its management team.

Mr Smith has more than 25 years experience in structural steelwork and joins Pro Steel Engineering as a project manager, having previously worked as a project manager at other leading steelwork companies.

Mr Davies previously worked at Newport-based AIC Steel as a commercial manager. He joins Pro Steel Engineering as a commercial manager, bringing more than 15 years of experience in the industry.

Ms Hogan joins the company as office manager, with previous experience in stakeholder engagement and ensuring workforce safety. Ms Hogan previously worked at Network Rail and has qualifications in project management.

Richard Selby, director of Pro Steel Engineering, said: “The appointments we’ve made this year reflect the impressive increase in work we saw over the last year.

“Each of the new team members brings a wealth of experience to the business, and will be essential to the company’s future.

“I’m looking forward to the rest of 2017 as we have some exciting new projects lined up, and we are developing a sustainable growth plan with an achievable order book.”
