GOLF loving celebrities will be coming to Gwent this weekend for the Celebrity Cup at the Celtic Manor to raise money for the Marie Keating Foundation.

Some of the biggest names in sport and showbiz will battle it out on the golf course in teams representing Wales, England, Scotland and Ireland.

Taking part in this year’s tournament are Gareth Bale, Rob Brydon, Gethin Jones, Jonathan Davies, and Craig Bellamy for Wales; boyband legends Ronan Keating, Keith Duffy and Brian McFadden aiming to score an ace for Ireland .

For Scotland there will be film and television actor James Nesbitt, rugby superstars Greig Laidlaw, Thom Evans and Max Evans teeing up - and TV personalities Denise Van Outen, Anton Du Beke, Ben Shephard and Bradley Walsh pitching in for England.

Gareth Bale was the latest star to join the Welsh team, joining rugby legends Sir Gareth Edwards and Jonathan Davies, Craig Bellamy and TV presenter Gethin Jones in the side captained by actor and comedian Rob Brydon.

Bale said: “I’m really looking forward to going back to Celtic Manor and hopefully we can regain the title from Scotland this year. I can’t wait to be part of the team again and I hope we can all raise a lot of money for the Marie Keating Foundation.”

Thousands of golf fans and celebrity spotters will flock to Celtic Manor for the event. There will be live music and food and bar outlets in the tented village.
