Kelvin Chedgzoy opened up a 7-1 led after five ends, against Brian Crockford.

A short spell went in favour of the hosts reducing the score to 8-5. However only one further end was lost by the 16th end,, which allowed them to concede the final two and maintain the lead,Derek Jeffries had a close game on his rink up until the twelfth end with a score of 8-10.

Four losing ends took away any chance of a win despite scoring a ‘4’ on the last.

Ivor Robertson skipped his rink against Keith Davies and a ‘5’ on the eleventh end boosted their score to 11 – 8 advantage.

Unfortunately the scores went against in the remaining ends, with Keith playing some good shots to gain the advantage,
