MEMBERS of the public will be able to have a glimpse at proposed plans to improve the A40/A466 Wye Bridge junction.

Measures to reduce traffic congestion and minimise delays will be some of the subjects covered at the public exhibition on Friday, July 7.

Such improvements will be achieved through the construction of a third lane on the southbound approach of the A40 and upgrading subway approach ramps.

Representatives from Monmouthshire County Council, Welsh Government and consulting engineers WSP/Parsons Brinkerhoff will be present to talk and listen to the public about the proposals.

County councillor Bryan Jones, cabinet member with responsibility for highways, said: “We understand the frustration that congestion and delays on the Wye Bridge junction cause to drivers and communities in Monmouth, the Wye Valley and the Forest of Dean. I welcome these proposals and urge the public to take time out to visit the exhibition.”

The exhibition at Monmouth’s Shire Hall, in Agincourt Square, will start from 11am to 7pm on July 7 and from 10am til 5pm on Saturday July 8.
