POLICE are appealing for information after two burglaries in the Celtic Horizons area of Newport.

The first burglary happened at around 12.30am on Tuesday May 16 at a house on Oystermouth Way. A white Mercedes A180 Sport was stolen from the drive after entry was gained to the house and the car keys were taken.

The second incident happened between 1.10am and 1.40am on Wednesday June 14 at an address on Bronllys Grove. Entry was gained to the house, car keys were taken and a Seat Ibiza was stolen from the drive. This car is white with a black roof.

If anyone has any information, they are asked to call 101 quoting log 36 16/05/17.

DC Michelle Thorne said: “I would just like to remind people, in light of this hot weather, to remember to close and lock downstairs doors and windows when you go to bed at night and close and lock all windows when the home is going to be empty for any amount of time. As an extra safety precaution, avoid leaving car keys close to the front door or anywhere visible – take them to bed with you or hide them in a safe place.”
