A COCKTAIL restaurant is celebrating Independence Day in style this year.
Newport's Mojo TheFoodBar, located at Clarence Place, has assembled a unique range of whiskey-based concoctions to celebrate July 4, US Independence Day.
Mojo The FoodBar co-owners Lewis Lewis and Seng Koh, said: “We are planning an extra special cocktail menu at Mojo The FoodBar for this US Independence Day to include international bourbon, whiskeys and rye with one or two local specials added in for good measure.
“Customers can expect some barrel aged cocktails as well as some classic cocktails including The Old Fashioned which is one of the most venerable of cocktails, predating not only the arrival of the motorcar but also the Presidency of Abraham Lincoln.”
Mojo the FoodBar head bar man and mixologist Andrej Madaras, said: “Properly made The Old Fashioned is strong but not too strong, sweet but not too sweet, and, most importantly, it's dead-simple to make and absolutely delicious.
“Our cocktail will be made using Zuidam Millstone 2009 Barrel Proof Rye TWE Exclusive. We will also have a number of other cocktails some featuring Wales’s Penderyn Independence and Penderyn Bryn Terfel, to add a little Welsh undertone to the unique celebration."
