Traffic congestion is building up on the SDR
MOTORISTS are experiencing severe delays in Newport today due to the planned closure of the Brynglas Tunnels.
The M4 westbound carriageway at the Brynglas tunnels is shut for roadworks until 6am tomorrow.
The M4 is closed between junctions 25A and 26 while traffic travelling west is being redirected along the Southern Distributor Road between Junctions 28 and 24.
Motorists in Newport are reporting a build up of traffic along the SDR, particularly near the SDR bridge and Spytty turn off, causing long delays.
The same closure will be in place every other week until Monday, July 17.
