The driver who died at the scene of the crash on Friday night has been named as 41-year-old Mark Perkins, of Blaina.

The passenger of the Peugeot 307 is now in a critical but stable condition, a Gwent Police spokesman has revealed

The driver of the silver Hyundai, who also received serious injuries, is now in a stable condition.

Both remain at the University Hospital Wales.

A MAN has died and two motorists left seriously injured following a crash between two cars in the Ebbw Vale.

The 41-year-old driver of a silver Peugeot 307 was pronounced dead at the scene along the A4046 near Cwm at around 10.20pm on Friday night.

Both the front seat passenger of the Peugeot and the driver of a silver Hyundai i10 sustained serious injuries and are receiving treatment at the University Hospital of Wales in Cardiff.

The family of the deceased are now being supported by specialist officers.
