AN ART exhibition showcasing a range of paintings has been held at Newport Cathedral.
Hundreds of people came to admire a range of fine art, drawings and oil paintings by Art School Wales students today.
There were a total of 156 pieces of work on display.
Shirley Griffiths, from Art School Wales, who also runs classes in Risca and Newport, said: "We've had about 200 people come and visit us today.
"Our biggest message today is to show that anyone can come and learn to paint.
"We also hope to boost people's appreciation of art."
Miss Griffiths, who lives on Stow Hill, added: "Today's been wonderful and I'm pleased to see so many people come."
