THE original singer of hard rock group AC/DC will be visiting Gwent next month as part of his tour of Europe.

Dave Evans, who is also one of the founding member of the group and was part of the band between 1973-1974, will be performing at the Boat Inn, in Chepstow, on Sunday, September 10.

Tour manager Matthew Scott said: “His band includes a number of prominent musicians from other well known groups such as The Bee Gees or Saxon.

“It worked so well last year we decided to do it again this year.

“He is doing quite an extensive tour around the UK and Europe.”

Mr Scott, who plays for Newport-band 7th Circle, will also be joining Mr Evans on his tour as a guitarist.

He said that Mr Evans is a “fantastic” guy who is “very professional”.

“I really do think he was the best singer they ever had,” he said. “He has had such a long career.

“He has quite a long catalogue of hard rock, including the early AC/DC stuff he was involved in.”
