DIVERSITY and equality will be celebrated next weekend as Pride Cymru returns from August 25 to 27.

Wales’ biggest celebration of the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT+) community takes place in Cardiff, but people from all over Gwent will be celebrating along with the rest of the nation.

Just in time for Pride, Parc Pantry in Newport have created the rainbow shake to celebrate as well as some rainbow cake which has been created by Holly Pugh of Holly Dolly Bakes.

Matt Ellis from Parc Pantry said: “The milkshake has a bubble-gum base and white chocolate mixed in. On the top there is whipped cream and candy floss as well as sprinkles and rainbow strips.

“The bubble-gum flavour makes it taste like candy and sweetie like.”

Mr Ellis added: “We were looking at shakes on Instagram and the rainbow one kept coming back up and we decided to create it to tie-in with Pride.

“On the weekend we will be doing in-store promotions and celebrating Pride and selling cakes and drinks for charity.

“We are a family friendly and all-inclusive brand and this is just another example of that.”

The Atlantica Bar in Newport are hosting a free Pride Cymru after-party on August 26 with an appearance by Philip Green, the comedy impressionist and dance performer who appeared in Britain’s Got Talent.
