US PRESIDENT Donald Trump is “the greatest threat to peace the world faces”, a Newport MP has claimed.
Paul Flynn, who has served Newport West in Parliament since 1987, has frequently been highly critical of the billionaire president.
And, writing on his blog this week, the Labour MP said: "He is now the greatest threat to peace that the world faces.
"He blunders into delicate situations and creates crises.
"The most explosive issue in US politics is race and historical divisions between north and south of the USA.
"He had made the tensions worse.
"We should not be encouraging him.
"It’s our world he threatens.
"We have only one of them."
Mr Flynn's comments came after after President Trump appeared to condone a white nationalist rally, during which a counter-protester was killed, last week.
