There are 15 categories to choose from, which aim to recognise staff working in all areas of the health and care sector.

Nominating someone or an organisation for an award is quick and easy using the online form, which can be found at southwalesargus.co.uk/healthandcareawards. The deadline for nominations is 5pm today. AUGUST 4

Hussain Bayoomi, managing director of the South Wales Argus, said he is looking forward to judging the entries.

He added: “We are looking forward to some outstanding entries from across the area, as we recognise individuals and teams from the across the whole health spectrum.

“There is outstanding work, care, innovation and services, across the health sector and it is important to focus on the people who have worked so hard and to tell their stories.”

You can nominate individuals and organisations in a number of categories.

If you have had great patient care from your doctor’s surgery you can nominate them for the GP Practice of the Year award. If your child has used a service and you think they deserve some recognition, then nominate them in the Early Years Award category.

The Healthy Neighbourhood award recognises groups or individuals who are working to get people moving, educate people on healthy eating, or improving residents’ mental health.

Other categories include Volunteer of the Year, Third Sector or Community Team of the Year and Mental Health Team of the Year.

Finalists will attend a special presentation event at Chepstow Racecourse on October 19 where the winners will be announced. They will also be featured in a future edition of the South Wales Argus.

Nominating someone, or an organisation, in any of the categories is free and can be done by filling in the simple online form. You can nominate someone in more than one category, or nominate yourself if you work in the health or care sector.
