A HANDFUL of youngsters grilled employees of a Pontypool-based housing association about their day-to-day roles during a “bring your kids to work day”.
The children, were all related to staff members, formed a press gang and went around Melin Homes’ offices to find out more about the social landlord.
The group took over the boardroom and interviewed chief executive Paula Kennedy, who said: “They gave me a grilling. A few regulators in the making I reckon.”
Two groups of children went to Melin HQ over two days and visited all the departments from money advice to community safety and asset management; they even got a taste of life on the phones when they listened to staff take calls in our contact centre.
The chief executive of Melin Homes added: “As we mark our tenth year we are busy planning for the next decade and these young people could be our employees or residents of the future.
“It was an ideal chance to help them understand more about housing, the services we provide and the career opportunities it creates.”
