Cwmbran-based Green & Co Accountants and Tax Advisors has been shortlisted for a national award.

The firm has been named as a finalist at the 2017 British Accountancy Awards in the Independent Firm of the Year category for Wales and the Midlands.

The ceremony is being held on Friday, October 13, and director Ed Gooderham hopes it proves a lucky day for practice.

He said: “This is incredibly satisfying news. Over the last three years, we have invested heavily in evolving our business in all the right areas. These include regular goal setting, valuable team away days and personal and professional development for all staff.

“Being shortlisted is a welcome reward for all the hard work the team has put in over the last few years. When applying for the award, we demonstrated our commitment to growing our business in the right areas, with respect to the changing landscape of accountancy.”

Green & Co Accountants, based at Pembroke House, won the award in 2014, and since then, the firm has grown exponentially both in terms of staff and clients.

Mr Gooderham said: “Our business has developed hugely since we last won the award. With the advent of cloud-based accounting and Making Tax Digital on the horizon, accountancy is playing a bigger picture when it comes to helping clients run their business. It’s not just about finances and compliance; it’s about forecasting growth, implementing financial improvements and attracting new clients.”

More than 750 guests from accountancy practices all over the country will attend the ceremony at the London Hilton on Park Lane.

The British Accountancy Awards rewards firms which have provided the highest quality of service to their clients. The judging criteria for this award looked at how the firm's services have been fundamental in enabling their clients to achieve their business goals.

Green & Co Accountants and Tax Advisors specialises in business growth and tax minimisation for businesses across Wales and the South West of England.
