A CELEBRATION of Newport’s best and brightest businesses and entrepreneurs has found a new venue for this year.

The V Awards, organised by the Argus’ sister magazine Voice, will be held at Tiny Rebel’s new brewery and bar in Rogerstone on Sunday, October 15.

The annual event has proved popular within the local business community, with last year’s event at the Parkway Hotel in Cwmbran attracting more than 400 people.

While primarily honouring those in the running for one of 47 awards, this year’s gala is a chance for guests to mingle and network with leading small businesses in the south east Wales region.

It also serves as a fundraiser for St David’s Hospice Care, which provides thousands of people suffering with cancer and other life-threatening illnesses with care.

For the first time in its history, a limited number of tickets will be made available to the general public.

Organisers have also confirmed that Capital FM’s Matt Lissack will close this year’s V awards with an exclusive DJ set.

Voting has now opened for the awards, which are split into categories such as shopping and home, food, and entertainment and nightlife.

Special awards such as Business of the Year, Local Hero/Volunteer of the Year, Entrepreneur of the Year and the Diversity Award will also be offered alongside the South Wales Next Top Model award.

All entries must be with the Voice team by no later than 4pm on Friday, October 6, and any entries received after this date will be void.

Votes can be cast at wearevoice.co.uk/vawards, where a full list of categories can be found.

Group bookings for event can be made by calling 01633 851051 or 01633 851042.
