A DIGITAL specialist has joined a UK-wide campaign which aims to help 10,000 small businesses improve their online performance.

Laura Emily Dunn, from Newport, is one of twenty trainers who will deliver the digital training over the next 12 months, including to businesses in Wales.

Ms Dunn, who is the director of LED media, said: “Gwent companies could definitely be selling more online, but they are so busy working on the business, they often feel like they don’t have the time to explore how to make the most of the online opportunity.

“I’m really pleased to help small businesses make a real difference to their bottom line with some time-saving hacks and make sure people running firms in Gwent get better at making sales and bringing in more business online.

“Even if you’re running a butchers or the local cafe, being online is important to raise awareness, create a buzz and help you sell more efficiently to more people.”

Ms Dunn said the training will be part of Go and Grow online, a campaign by small business support group Enterprise Nation which is run in conjunction with Microsoft, Curry’s PC World Business and Verisign.

Emma Jones, founder of Enterprise Nation, said that big firms have the resources to invest in the latest digital e-commerce and marketing.

She said: “Smaller firms have been slower on the uptake over the years, and seem to have less appetite for it. They are busy simply running the business and don’t always see the benefits that digital can deliver.

“And yet the digital world is an area that they absolutely can compete with larger firms on. Laura will be one of the people providing the on-the-ground assistance that businesses need.”

Ms Dunn’s first session is to be held on Tuesday, November, 7 at Novotel Cardiff Centre, in Atlantic Wharf, Cardiff, from 6pm to 8pm. For further details visit bit.ly/2gv73Dn
