HERE are the 41 faces of men and women who were part of an early morning sting operation by Gwent Police in their bid to crackdown on class A drugs in Newport.

In the series of raids linked to Operation Jewels, a total of 70 people were convicted for a range of drug-related offences.

Darren Edwards, 35, of Feering Road was sentenced to four years in prison for two counts of supplying crack cocaine and five counts of being concerned in the supply of the drug.

Keith Pugsley, 51, of Oliphant Circle, received a sentence of 18 months of one count of supplying heroin. He is not pictured.

Nathan Giuletti, 25, of Blackwater Close, was sentenced to two years and eight months for one count of suppyling heroin and one of being concerned in the supply of the drug.

Joshua Risdale, 24, of King’s Parade received a term of three years and two months for four counts of supplying heroin and being concerned in the supply of the drug.

Christopher Cooper, 29, of Holton Road, Barry, was sentenced to two years and four months for three counts of supplying heroin and one of supplying crack coaine.

Jak Gordon, 24, of Latch Square, was sentenced to three years and eight months for three counts of supplying heroin, one of being concerned in the supply of the drug and also the supply of cocaine.

Andre Taylor, 25, of Cromwell Road, received a term of three years and six months for five counts of supplying heroin and being concerned in the supply of the drug.

Curtis Lewis, 19, of Williams Close, was sentenced to two years and four months for two counts of supplying heroin.

In addition to being forced to pay £2,950, Dean Hawkesby, 49, of Bolt Close, received a term of two years and eight months for two counts of supplying heroin.

Mark Holmes, 31, of Mandrake House, Rogerstone, was sentenced to two years and eight months for three counts of supplying crack cocaine.

Kade Reynolds, 23, of Maesglas Road, was ordered to pay £1,350 in addition to receiving a sentence of three years and two months for one count of supplying heroin and six of supplying cocaine.

Lawrence Seivwright, 32, of Potter Street, was sentenced to two years and four months for one count of supplying heroin.

Paul Matthews, 47, of Colston Place, received a term of two years and four months for two counts of supplying heroin.

Thomas Coffey, 49, of Witham Street, was sentenced to two years and six months for two counts of supplying crack cocaine and one of possessing amphetamines.

Joe Parry, 22, of Llanwern Street, received a term of two years and four months for two counts of supplying heroin.

Mohammed Hussain, 18, of Corporation Road, was sentenced to three years and six months in a young offenders’ institution for one count of supplying heroin.

Saif Ali, 22, of no fixed abode, received a term of three years and six months in a young offenders’ institution for three counts of supplying heroin.

A defendant who we cannot name at this moment received a sentence of two years and four months in a young offenders’ institution for one count of supplying crack cocaine.

Jermain Taylor, 19, of Cromwell Road, was sentenced to three years in a young offenders’ institution for one count of being concerned in the supply of cocaine.

Kenode Germain, 33, of Crouch Close, Bettws, received a term of three years and eight months for three counts of supplying a drug of class A.

Andre James, 37, of Ariel Close, was sentenced to two years and four months for one count of supplying crack cocaine.

Lucien Rousselle, 43, of Milton Hill, Llanwern, received the sentence of four years for two counts of supplying a class A drug.

Operation Jewels II followed the first sting in April, and a number of cases involved the work of an undercover police officer called Cassie.

In total, there were 30 people were convicted for a range of drug offences.

Andrew Hutchinson, 54, of Curzon Court, was sentenced to two years and eight months for one count of supplying heroin.

Denny Roberts, 37, of Tewkesbury Close, received a term of three years and four months for four counts of supplying heroin.

Leighton Henson, 23, of Ennerdale Court, was sentenced to two years and 10 months for one count of supplying heroin.

Adil Hussain Ali, 19, of Glebe Street, received a sentence of two years and eight months for one count of supplying heroin and class C drugs.

Liam Taylor, 19, of Comfrey Close, was sentenced to two years and four months for one count of supplying heroin.

Daniel Sullivan, 30, of Bolt Close, received a term of two years and four months for one count of supplying heroin and one of supplying cocaine.

A 13-year-old youth who cannot be named for legal reasons was sentenced to six months youth detention and a training order.

David Rustham Allen, 25, of Bolton Road, received a term of three years and four months for one count of supplying heroin and one of supplying cocaine.

Tasleem Mohammed, 31, of St Michael Street, was sentenced to three years and eight months for two counts of supplying heroin, one of being concerned in the supply of the drug and possession with intent to supply cocaine.

Lee Nagy, 30, of Somerton Park, was sentenced to three years and nine months.

Jason Baker, 21, of Chaffinch Way, was sentenced to two years and eight months for one count of supplying heroin.

A 15-year-old youth who cannot be named for legal reasons was sentenced to a 12 month referral order.

Lawrence Henson, 24, of no fixed abode, received a term of two years and eight months for one count of supplying heroin.

A 16-year-old youth who cannot be named for legal reasons was sentenced to a 12 month referral order.

Shane Edwards, 51, of Albert Street, was sentenced to two years and four months for one count of supplying heroin.

A 16-year-old youth who cannot be named for legal reasons was sentenced to a 12 month referral order and a confiscation of £1,500.

Gareth Micallef, 31, of Conway Croft, was sentenced to five years and seven months for two counts of supplying heroin.

Adnan Ali, 21, of Livingstone Place, received a term of five years and seven months for one count of supplying heroin.

A 39-year-old man, who has not been named, was given a supervision order until August 8.

Lorraine Hawkesby, 61, of Kirby Lane, received a term of one year and nine months for one count of supplying heroin.

A 40-year-old man, who has not been named, received a 12 month suspended for 18 months and was ordered to pay £160 to attend a rehabilitation course.

A 19-year-old man, who has not been named, received a 18 month suspended youth detention order with 180 hours of unpaid work to be completed within the next 12 months and a £140 victim surcharge.

Nigel Davies, 52, of Sycamore Avenue, received a term of two years and six months for three counts of supplying heroin.

Salim Miah, 24, of Cemetery Lane, was sentenced to three years and four months for one count of being concerned in the supply of heroin.

Marc Wainfur, 37, of Bolt Close, received a term of two years and eight months for two counts of supplying heroin.

Hardeep Dhatt, 24, of no fixed abode, was sentenced to three years and four months for one count of possessing heroin with the intent to supply.

Ellis Bates, 19, of no fixed abode, was sentenced to five years and seven months for three counts of supplying heroin.

A 46-year-old man, who has not been named, received a nine month sentence for two counts of supplying heroin.

A 21-year-old man, who has not been named, received a 12 month community order, 80 hours of unpaid work to be completed in the next 12 months and to attend rehabilitation.

The other defendants were arrested in connection with the operation. Although one received a fine of £295, no further action was taken by the police.

As part of Operation jewels parts one and two, specialist teams carried out simultaneous warrants in the Newport area.

These warrants were executed following information from the local community about the supply of Class A Drugs in the area.

More than 250 officers conducted a series of early morning warrants across Newport to tackle illegal drug supply.

During the search of addresses across the city, a quantity of cash, Class A drugs and paraphernalia were seized.
