TWO men were arrested after a 'large fight' on board a train heading towards Cwmbran.

Officers from British Transport Police (BTP) have issued an appeal to identify witnesses to the incident which happened at around 8.50pm on Saturday, October 14, on board the 8.10pm Arriva Trains Wales service between Cardiff Central and Cwmbran.

A spokesman for BTP said: "Whilst on board the train, a group of males began fighting.

"Multiple punches were thrown and officers believe there are victims who have not yet made any formal complaints.

"Officers are therefore appealing for witnesses and victims to get in touch as soon as possible."

Two men aged 21 and 22 were each arrested on suspicion of common assault. They have been interviewed in relation to this incident and released under investigation.

BTP said enquiries are continuing.
