FORMER Newport County AFC defender Regan Poole and his Wales under-21 teammates were held to a frustrating 0-0 draw by nine-man Romania in Bangor on Tuesday.

The draw leaves Rob Page’s side in fourth place in their UEFA European Under-21 Championship qualifying group.

Wales are behind the Romanians, Bosnia & Herzegovina and Portugal in Group 8 with two wins, a draw and two defeats from their opening five games.

Meanwhile, Jayne Ludlow has named her latest Wales Women’s squad for their upcoming FIFA Women’s World Cup qualifiers against Kazakhstan and Bosnia-Herzegovina.

Wales host Kazakhstan at the Cardiff City Stadium on Friday, November 24, before taking on Bosnia-Herzegovina in Zenica four days later.

Ludlow’s side will be looking to build on a solid start in Group 1, with four points from their opening two games.

All-time top scorer Helen Ward is again named in the squad after travelling to St Petersburg last month for the goalless draw with Russia, but Charlie Estcourt misses out through injury.

Wales are currently top of the group, one point ahead of Bosnia & Herzegovina and England.
